GAMBLING STATISTICA.

In reply to Mr. Whitehead's question, a large mass of information, was laid on the table. showing that the number of convictions since the commencement of the Gambling Ordinance up to the end of September, 18or, was 1179 amount of fines levied, $11,748.50; finrs collected. $6 301 50s imprisonments, 414, of whom 406 wein, fnr. 14 days, ́six for ten days, and, för e-ven days, and one for four days. The number in prison on October 12th (when the qu-gion was first asked) was 66. The cost could not be ascertained, but might be calculated by taking a proportion of the total cost of the gnol, clerks, etc.
