The British steamship Hallsong reports that she left Tamsul on the 11th instant, Amoy on the rath, and Swatow on the 14th. Between Tamsul and Amy had light variable winds with fog. From Amoy to Swatow had moderate breezes and fine cloudy weather. From Swatow had strong south-west winds, with high bead ses breeze and cloudy weather to port.

The British steamship Menmuir reports that she left Sydney at 5 pm on the 23rd nitimo; called at Townsville on the 28th, Cooktown.on the 29th, Thursday Island on the rat instant, and Port Darwin on the gth. Had fresh south-east and cast-south-cast winds with occasional rain. From Sydney to Townsville bad light variable winds. From thereto Cooktown, and from Cook- town to Thursday Island had strong south-east- winds and fine weather. From Thursday Island to Port Darwin had moderate south-cast winds and fine weather. Left Fort Darwin on the gth at 6 p.m. Hnd light south-east winds from Port Darwin to Samboangan.
