He covered the distance in zm. 49isto, last quarter 33sec., which was an excellent performance so far as speed west and bis owner looked very much pleased, but we have seen this pony do sensational gallops in training before, so do not place much reliance on him.
Volcano, Mr. Hart Buck, was beaten by Visitation, Mr. Crawford, in a mile gallop. The time zm. 25sec. was nothing, but the way the latter pony shot out when called upon reminded us of the clever way in which he won the Chau Shang Kink cup a year ago.
Skiphick, bay up, went a mile in am. zascc. by himself.
Paoshing, boy up, went the same distinca and was blowing very much at the finish; we heard his trainer remark that the pony's lungs were gane; others do not think so though, but are inclined to the opinion that with work he will come-round.
Encounter, owner up, went a mile in am. 18e, but spoilt the effect of what would have been a very good gallup, by refusing to extend himself passing the Rails.
