A CORRESPONDENT writing fron Pang Chia Chuang (Shantung) on Angust 26th to our Tien- sin contemporary, says: To one who is unac quainted with the Chinese, the slowness with which intelligence permeates, the people is, a wonder, as well as their indifference to the results of inquiry.
