5 o'clock. The 'share business for the past few days has been rather puzzling, and it may be doubted whether many of the transactions reported can be accepted as a reliable indication of the true state of the market. Punjoms, after being driven up to 35, have again dropped to 27, shares ing being freely offered at the latter rate this afternoon. Steamboats have greatly benefited by the reported probable increase of capital by a new issue of shares, and are now in strong demand at 232, and for forward delivery at proportionate roles, China Sugars have changed hands at 195 and are still wanted at that price, while Luzons have been placed át as high as 100 | Yaani on the strength of favorable information from Manila. Docks continue firm at quotation. Some Electric Lights have been sold at 8, and are still inquired after. Nothing else requires special reference.
