TO-DAY.

THE SHARE MARKET.

5 o'clock. A very large and important business, has been put through to-day in various stocks, but chiefly in Punjoms, the Wharf and Godown Co.'s scrip. and the shares of the Land Mortgage Co., Ld. Punjoms haye Buctuated between 60 and 68, a considerable number of orders from. Singapore having been filled. The closing rate was 65, with buyers. The movement in "Kowloons" commenced late yesterday, when a very large number of shares changed hands at from 92 tơ 97 per cent. premium, and to-day a still larger business has been done at from97 to 100. The Land Mortgage Co.'s $50 paid-up shores con- tinue in great demand, and transfers have been made at as high as $175 per share, There after sales at $150 and $165. appears to be only a limited supply, on the market, and the stock closed with further buyers at $165. Luzons were inquired after in the morning at as high" as 98, but later in the day there were sellers at 96. Docks are again very firm, with buyers at 44 per cent; premium. A sale of the Rope Manufacturing Co.'s scrip at 120 was reported during the afternoon. Some sensational business in the Electric Light Co.'s two dollars paid- up shares at $20 has been talked about, but we merely give the report for what- ever it may be worth. Nothing else need be specially referred to.
