Business is still very quiet in the Share Market. Banks are in request at 191 premium, but there are sellers at 192 for cash and also for the end of the month. Sales of North China Insurances have been negociated at the increased rate of taels 1450 per share. Docks have been done af 62 premium for December 31st. China Sugars are somewhat firmer, offers to buy. at 139 not inducing holders to come to terms. Nothing in other stocks requires -special notice.

REPORTS.
The British steamship Canton reports left Saigon on the 12th instant. Had moderate mon- soon and fine clear weather from Cape St. James to port.
The O. & O. steamship Arabic reports left San Francisco on the sth ultimo, and-Yoko hama on the 9th instant. Was detained 23 hours by a typhoon off the Linchoten Islands on the 12th instant, in lat, 29.40 N. and long, 130.20 E The breeze set in fairly at daylight, commencing at East and hauling gradually throughout the, j'day to N.W.; and finally ending with a fresh wind from the West. The lowest reading of the barometer was at 1 pm 29-30, the fall-was- slow and steady; at 2 pm. glasses cominenced to oscillate and vibrate considerably, at 3 p.m.. glasses steady, towards 4 p.m. glasses 2016 00.03, and at.6 p.m. tenth. The wind soon subsided and hauled to West. The increase of oppressive | heat above the mean temperature made it un comfortable to all hands. The sea, was heavy, influenced by a strong N.E. current, causing a heavy cross sen, The ship felt this continual cross sea on the beam, running up from the South. The courses through the day were from E. by S. to N.E. by N., wind on port bow; ship in left hand semicfrete. At sunset the sight was interesting from the usual olive green colour and density of the clouds, particularly in the N.E. quarter. At 7 p.m. wind and sea subsiding, steered to the Westward to pass through the
Islands. At 2.10 a.m. Archimedes Islands bora North, distant 4 miles; thence had fine weather to port. On the 14th instant at 4 pm.. spoke the German bark Hilda Maria, in lat: 26.31 N. and long, 122.42 E., steering S.W. by W. W.
