Commercial.

THIS DAY

Noon Business in the Share Market is still qujet, and most of the stacks have a down- ward tendency. Yesterday afternoon a fair amount of business was done in Banks at the decreased rate of 20 per cent. premium for the end of the month, the stock leaving off with buyers at that rate, North Chinas have come down to Tls. 1500, a fall of 50 per share since yester day, without inducing buyers to come for- ward. Small sales of Yangtszes have been put through at quotation. Hongkong Fires have changed hands at 340 per share, and China Fires are offering at 370, Docks are in request at quotation. Nothing in other stocks requires special mention.

4 o'clock p.m.. Banks have become a shade firmer since noon and are now wanted at 202 for the end of the month, holders standing out for 203. A small sale of Docks has taken place at quotation. Luzons.have changed hands at 8t per share, but there are any quantity of shares on the market at that price, Nothing else came under our notice.
