THIS DAY.

Noon. Insurance stocks display a healthier ten- dency this morning, the, "scare" of the past few days having apparently run its course. Business has been done in China Traders' at 3550, and Yangtszes are in demand at trels 1000 per share. Hong kpng Fires are decidedly firmer; shares have changed hands at i 350 and there are still buyers at the rate. Banks show no Sellers rule the signs of improvement, market at 192 per cent, premium "cum new Issue" for the end of the month, and offers to trade at 195 for May 31st have also failed to elicit, a response from the noble army of time speculators-For-delivery at the end of May a few shares might be negociated at 194. A reaction has taken place in favor of Docks, that stock being now. in request at 50 per cent. prem- lum, and as there are no sellers at that quo- tation a higher price will probably be paid in the course of the day. After our report left yesterday, Luzons were dabbled in rather extensively at 101 for April 30th, and 103 and 104 for the end of June and July respectively; This morning the scrip is offered at 101, for cash without leading to business. Steamboats are slighly out of favor at 45 per share prémium..

4 o'clock p.m. Since last writing a few small transac- tions in Banks at 191 for the end of April and 194 for May 31st have been reported, and there is still an enquiry after the stock at the former role, China Fires have changed hands, but not to any consider-
