PUBLIC CIRCULATING LIBRARY.

[28

́AVING long felt the need of a PUBLIC CIRCULATING LIBRARY in Hongkong, I have determined, should a sufficient number Volunteer to Subscribe to it, to form a Library on the same basis as Circulating. Libraries are formed in England, and from my Experience in such matters in England, I feel certain that I can form and conduct a Library satisfactorily to all. My Experience in the East Teaches me that the principal demand would be for LIGHT LITERATURE, and the„Ordinary 3-Volume English Novels would therefore preponderate, at the same time Works of any interest on Science, Biography and Travel would find their place on the Library Shelves.

THE SUBSCRIPTION WOULD BE $15 PER ANNUM FOR A SINGLE”

SET OF BOOKS....

Willing Subscribers will kindly send in their Names as early as possible in order. that some estimate might be formed of the probable success of the 'Scheme. .'.
