The Exchange will be worked in the following way, viz.; a head Office will be established in the central part of the town provided with the best Tele phone appliances according to the new est and most approved European and American inventions. Each subseri. ber will be supplied with a complete Bot of Instruments and will be put in direct communication, with the central office by separato wires.
When wishing to use the Telephone, a Subscriber will only liave to call the Central Station and give the name of the party, ho wishes to speak with, the' wires are then immediately switched together, and the two Subscribers will bo in direct communication with each other. When they have finished, the Central Office is notified to that effect by a Bell Signal, the wires are then disconnected, and any other connection can be made if desired and so on. The dialogue between the subscribers is of coarso quite private and can only be heard by the two parties concerned. It should distinctly be understood, that the message are not spoken to the Cen- tral Office, and thence transmitted to ths parsou to be co nmanicited with.. bat the two wires are simply switched together, thas forming one continuons line, over which conversation can be carried with perfect ense and privacy,
