THE above work will be published on the 1st of January next, at the office of this Paper, and will con.. Conquest tain a Directory for the Porta in the large portion of Asia comprised be- twoon Penang, in the Straits Settle- ments, and the Northern Ports, includ- ing Formoss; the Treaty Ports of China and Japan; the Philippine Islands; the British Colony of Hongkong; and the Portuguese Colony of Macao. The work will also contain the Principal Trentias between European countries and the United States and the countries East of the Straits, together with conditions of Trado, and the Port, Customs, Con- salar and Harbour Regalations for the Ports of China and Japan; and a des cription of the Ports, with the latest Trade Statistics taken from the Reports of the Imperial Maritime Customs and other reliable sources.

The various Governments and Mu- nicipal Corporations will be applied to for information, and all Pablic Bodies and Companies, Bankers, Merchants, Consuls, and Professional and other Residents, will supply the necessary matter to ensure correctness upon forms seat for that purpose.
