Be Prepared for The Examination.
Economic And subject For the Public Affairs, students are required to attempt two papers. Paper I consists of two
Section sections.
Aasks questions concerning Economic Affairs and Section B Public Affairs. Three Questions will be cet in each section. Students are required to answer a total. of 3 questions, choosing at least one. Guestion: from peach section. A门!!

Paper
er 11 consists of miltiple choice questions.
Techniques of Answering Questions (1)The subject stresses the exact and precise use of economic and public affairs. terminology, which we call jargons (e.g. utility instead of. Jusefulness'), Therefore, the most important element, in writing a good economics essay is the accurate use of terms and avoiding confusions. Commonly found among laymen (e.g. the concept of profits, money or opportunity: cost have their specialized meanings in economics).
(2)You should present your answers in a direct and concise mariner. To be
direct means writing only on what is expected to be answered (e.g. when being asked on a definition, you need to write the required one only. To be concise means writing
but briefly
giving sufficient information. Moreover, the answers. should be tailor-made to cope with the allocation of marks.
(3)You are encouraged to use. more. examples and graphs in illustrating especially for the your answers, part of Demand, supply and Price, If possible, local examples such as the present economic situation and the importance of secondary production of Hong Kong should be quoted to show your in-depth understanding of the questions.
(4)Last but not least, you should have your answers presented in a well- structured and well-reasoned manner arid the point-form answer written with complete: sentences instead of phrases will be rewarding.
Paper
Carrying 40% of the total marks, this paper consists of multiple-choice questions and students are provided "with. four options' in each question. A
total of 60 questions are set.
'' Hith respect to the distribution. of topics, this part tends to cover all the topics and each topic, bears similar importance. We expect at least two to: three questions will be set on each topic. Therefore, students are advised. to spend even efforts on all topics. Nevertheless... the, hature of multiple- choice questions will mostly terid ̇towards: thase requiring a simple level of analysis or" some direct :responše/application questions: with emphasis on inter-relations and definitions(e.g. the Lawinf Diminishing marginal Returns Function of Money, etc.)

Most students do not study this part hard. It is a serious mistake to consider this part as mere guessing or a lucky draw. To a sensible student, it is not the case. Tactics, as well as drilling are equally important.
In choosing the best answer, you. had:better bear: these in mind:
(1)Read the question thoroughly and make sure what is being asked (especially those with negative elements ile. NOT, NEVER).
(2)First eliminate the wrong answers, some of, which can be ticked out easily. Then establish the carrest answer by clear and Togical discrimination.
Finally, leave some time to check the answers since you might have got confused at the start!
