have no Alternative but to appeal to your Lordship for assistance and would humbly submit to your Lordship that the footway is the property of the Public of Hong Kong and cannot legally be obstructed in the manner hereinbefore mentioned to the
great detriment of the inhabitants thereof and more especially the tenants of your Petitioners' premises.
Wherefore your Petitioners humbly pray that your Lordship will be graciously pleased to order an enquiry into the matter and that the said Engine House obstruction be removed and the footway restored to its original Condition, or that such other act be done as your Lordship
may deem advisable and just in the premises.
And your Petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray.
