On Saturday last, an extract of a Letter which Dr Legge had written to me was read. I now, at your request, enclose a copy of that letter, of which I concur in every word. Dr Legge has been a Minister Missionary and Pastor of the only nonconformist congregation in Hongkong for nearly ... years, and his public services were so much recognised by the Colonial Office that I need not say he is a most competent authority on the subject.
I am happy to say that, on the unanimous request of the Nonconformists in Hong Kong, he will return to be again the Minister of the Union Church there in February next. His address is Dollar by Stirling. I know he would gladly answer any questions on the subject.
