34 we are to be furnished by our Employer with comfortable quarters and rations of five (5) pounds of pork or its equivalent in bacon, or beef; fourteen (14) pounds of rice, one fourth (1/4) pound of Tea per week, also a small quantity of ground for a Garden spot.

It is agreed that during the time we are working and until the advances made to us, we are to be furnished at least one dollar and a half ($1.50) per month and ten dollars ($10) per year for clothing; and which sums we have received we are to repay by work.

We are to work from daylight till dark with an intermission of one hour each for breakfast and dinner, and during sugar making to take watch as usual at night on the sugar Plantations, but we are to be paid by our Employer at the rate of thirty-five cents for each night at the end of the month.
