With reference to your letter of the 3rd inst., suggesting by direction that the issue of the proposed instructions with regard to the action of H.M.'s Naval forces in suppressing Piracy in the China Seas should be deferred until Sir R. Alcock's reply to V. Admiral Sir H. Keppel's letter of 22nd March had been received, I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to transmit for the information of the Secretary of State a copy of a letter from E. Hammond forwarding a letter from Sir R. Alcock to the Admiral dated 6th April.
It is requested that the original inclosure be returned.
