In accordance with this opinion, Lord Clarendon has addressed to Her Majesty's Minister at Lisbon the instruction, of which a copy is enclosed.
I am at the same time to request that you will call the attention of Earl Granville to that part of the Law Officer's report which relates to the manner in which the case in question has been conducted, and to the steps which should be taken to obviate the inconvenient results which might otherwise arise.
