I have laid before the Foreign Office your letter of June 10, 1869.

The Earl of Clarendon having received your letter of the 16th instant, inclosing a copy of a letter from the Board of Trade respecting the seizure of a Hong Kong licensed junk by a Chinese Cruiser, and the imposition by the Chinese Authorities of duties on goods in transit at Hongkong; and I am to request that you will state to Earl Granville that Lord Clarendon concurs in the views expressed by the Board of Trade.
