I am directed by the Earl of Clarendon to acquaint you, for the information of Earl Granville that he has received a note from the Hawaiian Consul General at this Court, stating that Mr William Beswick of the Firm of Mathieson + Co appointed Hawaiian Consul at Hongkong, and requesting that Her Majesty's Exequatur may be issued to that Gentleman to enable him to act in the above capacity;

The Earl requests that you will move the Secretary of State so inform Clarendon if there is any objection to the issue of such Exequatur
