March 24 1869

I have the honour to acquaint your Excellency that on account of the establishment of a Consulate at Hong Kong for the N.6.C., I was informed by note of the 11th inst., it has been determined to withdraw the Prussian Consular Authority hitherto existing there.

Consequently, Herr Probst, heretofore Prussian Consul at Hong Kong, as well as his sometime Representative, Herr J. F. Menke, merchant at that place, will cease to act officially so soon as the Consulate of the Confederation there shall be acknowledged by the British Govt.

With the most
