I am directed by the Secretary of State to acquaint you that an application has been received from the Minister of the North German Confederation at Honestons, for the issue of an Exequatur to offer A. Eimbcke as Consul for German Complaint in this Court.
As this Gentleman appears to be resident in the Colony under your Government, I am to request you to report whether you are aware, or not, of any objection to his appointment, and if not, you will recognize him provisionally in that capacity until the arrival of the Exequatur.
