I am directed by the Earl of Clarendon to acquaint you that a note has been received from Count Bernstorff stating that Mr. A. Eimbcke has been appointed North German Consul at Hongkong and requesting that Her Majesty's Exequatur may be issued to that gentleman to enable him to act in the above capacity, and I am to request that you will inform Lord Granville if there is any objection to the issue of such Exequatur to Mr Eimbcke. I am to add that Count Bernstorff states that Mr Eimbcke is resident at Hongkong.
