I have to acknowledge your despatch of 7th inst., with a despatch from the Governor of Hongkong and a letter from the Emigration Agent in answer to the observations in my report of 2nd March last on the manner in which the Dayspring was allowed to sail with emigrants to Melbourne.
7. The Dayspring sailed on 94 to 99 May 1868 with 313 Immigrants on board, and arrived at Melbourne, after a voyage of 106 days, having lost 27% Adults.
