Directed by the Field Marshal Commanding in Chief to acknowledge the receipt of your Letter of the 28th ultimo, with its enclosed despatch from the Governor of Hong Kong forwarding a memorial signed by some of the principal Merchants and Bankers of that Island complaining of the custom of practising with Artillery on the parade ground in that city, and in reply to acquaint you, for the information of the Secretary of State for War.
