With reference to your Letter of the 25th September and its enclosures, I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you, for the information of the Secretary of State for the Colonies, that their Lordships approve of the grant of a Superannuation Allowance at the rate of $75.11.1 per annum to Mr. Thornton late of the Harbour Master's Office Hong Kong; in lieu of the Pension of £53.6.8 awarded by the Letter from His Excellency the Governor dated 20th ult.
