I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 7th Instant, and I am to acquaint you, for the information of Major-General Pratt, that They sanction the Supplementary Report & Estimate – No. 259 of 1869, which has been forwarded by the Governor of Hongkong for establishing telegraphic communication round the Island for Police purposes at an estimated cost of $7000.
