The Requisition states under the head of certain particulars to be observed "the length breadth and

"not of necessity be below the water line. All the particulars of the Requisition and a copy of

the Vessel were sent to three leading Firms and three designs and estimates were submitted by Messrs Maudslay Sons and Field, Lambeth, Messrs Penn Sons, Greenwich, & Messrs Blyth trichouse. All these manufacturers required
