Carbolic Acid for Hong Kong
The Cost of 900 Gallons of Calverts No. 5 Carbolic Acid - referred to in your letter of the 9th instant - exclusive of packages would be about £150 at the manufactory. The cost of Carriage to Liverpool, and of freight from thence to Hong Kong, by Holt's Line of Steamers leaving about 1 June, would be about £116 if packed in wrought iron drums of 40 Gallons each enclosed in wooden cases and filled in with saw dust, and the cost of the Drums and packages would be £68 making altogether
