Price of 1860 was disallowed & therefore there is no necessity to refer to it. If this Council are inclined to think that their Ordinance is vacated though the provisions of the 5th section are not exactly in accordance with the directions or suppositions in the Despatch when 73: hajuste (8338). Possibly, however, there is some difficulty in fixing any permanent penalties on delinquent policemen as it was thought better to leave this to the discretion of the Governor in Council, also to revoke the grant of pension or to reduce it.
