I have the honour to report, for the information of His Excellency the Administrator, the result of the recent Conference between the Governor and the principal officers of the Military and Naval Departments on the subject of the proposed Ordinance "for the more effectual Suppression of Fires."
The draft Ordinance is founded on the English Act 14 & 15 Vict. c. 97 (for the more effectual Suppression of Fires), with some modifications to adapt it to the circumstances of this Colony.
The form of the Ordinance was settled in its present shape on the 5th instant at a meeting of the Governor and the principal officers of the Military and Naval Departments.
