This Ordinance was passed in conformity with directions from the Secretary of State contained in a Colonial Office Despatch (No. 1841) of 7th November 1868. Sections 1, 2, 3 of the Ordinance for the suppression of Piracy (No. 1 of 1868) 11212 - 68, have been repealed and Section 1c of the same Ordinance has been amended by inserting the same words as those used in Section VI of Ordinance No. 10 of 1865. These words are taken from 24 and 25 Vic. C. 99.
