Report on Ordinance No. 1 of 1869.
This Ordinance is presented at the desire of the Legal Profession. Owing to the great heat experienced in September, it is found very undesirable to extend the labours of the Supreme Court beyond the middle of August.
The vacation begins on the 30th of that month and terminates on the 12th of October, when the cool weather begins to set in; but this period of the year is not favourable for prosecuting business and the Members of the profession are but rarely able to derive any benefit from change of air.
