Remarks on changes at the Colonial Treasury

With reference to the engagements at the Treasury having been disputed, numerous, like, and multifariously expressive

1st There was no proper surveillance on the part of the Treasurer, who had his Office on another floor at the extreme end of the Building.

2nd The Cashier and two other Clerks collecting branches of revenue belonging to the Department, one receiving and paying, and the other shroffing, carried on their duties as if they did not belong to the same Department.

The collection of different revenue was received on the same day and passed over and through shroffing to another. Thus the Police Lighting Rates Office had two
