A respectful petition from the Canton Company, the Company from the district of He and Kang (in China), and the Tung hiring Company, all of them comprised of Chinese who have gone to the distant country of Peru. We, your humble servants, beg to inform you how we have been deluded and maltreated, and now throw ourselves before you, entreating you to take up our case.
It appears that the principles on which all trade is carried among Chinese and uncivilized countries, give great importance to loving the people without distinction.
