Corsairs who have escaped to this Colony from the Macao Government, and in all cases of Piracy where the evidence necessary to obtain a Conviction is in the hands of the Macao Government, as for instance, where part of a gang of Pirates about to be tried at Macao are found here, or vice versa, have thus been considered in this Colony and a Supplemental clause has therefore been prepared for consideration. The clause will be found at the foot of the Printed Draft.

Further Minute of the Attorney General to accompany the Draft of the proposed Hong Kong and Macao Extradition Ordinance

I have had an interview with His Excellency the Governor of Macao and with the Chief Justice of that Colony on the subject of the proposed Extradition Ordinance. Although anxious that the object of it should be carried out, they would greatly prefer a simpler machinery and they instanced the Extradition Treaty now existing between Spain and Portugal. I have not seen that Treaty but I gather from them that Extradition under it is a Summary Process.
