patients instead of merely the cooks and servants connected with the Temple. It is however remarkable that Dr Huway was even then aware of the insanitary condition of the Tung Wah Hospital, particularly in the practice of taking in the living but moribund friends of poor people, who expressly went there to die.
Had Mr Wilson had experience in the matter, or paid attention to the place, one of his attention would have been drawn to it, and taken warning from the case of Dr Murray, to which I drew his attention, the recent abuses (which otherwise could have occurred).
Dr Murray died in 1866.
