late Assistant Superintendent of Hong Kong Police Force

Mr James Jarman entered the Police Force of Hong Kong in February 1849 as deputy Inspector and he was promoted Assistant Superintendent on the 22nd February 1858. He was allowed to resign on the 2nd April 1869.

He has only been absent during that time for 13 weeks.

Mr Jarman has therefore 20 years of Service.

Mr. Jarman's salary for the six months prior to 1st June 1867 was at the rate of $1,680 or £350 per annum. Since that date it has been $1,920 or £400 per annum. His average salary...
