The firing of guns on the Parade Ground during the morning is a great annoyance to the residents, while the explosion of the buns considerably damages the buildings in the vicinity of the Parade Ground. It is very detrimental to the proper carrying on of business to the Banks and the Commercial houses near.
As the exercise takes place at an hour in the day when there are many horses in the adjacent streets it is liable to cause serious accidents.
We therefore beg that you will lay the matter before His Excellency the Governor, and move him to take such steps as may be necessary to put a stop to this dangerous and annoying practice in the centre of this crowded town.
