Lavail injects of this opportunity to apprize Your Excellency that, although the Government of Hangtong had not, through delicacy, required declaration from this Government the Expenses in the regarding the case,
still the intention of my Predecessor umming the proceedings, and undoubtedly that of this thost Pankful Majesty's Government in ordering their being carried on, was that all the Expenses should be defrayed from the Treasury of this Province.
