5. In the following remarks, however, I only seek to correct actual misstatements as to fact, for the purpose of better enabling Your Lordship to determine what policy His Majesty's Government should finally adopt in this matter. It would therefore serve no
good purpose now to allude to the numerous misstatements into which the Memorialists have fallen in supposing that I had
