When I get to the Office I shall look up the correspondence referred to, but I apprehend the state of the case to be this: that I found the Colonial Secretary's Office extremely mismanaged; and the documents confused, insufficient indexes, ill devised means of sorting the archives, and also the general mode of transacting business generally insufficiently provided for. In fact nothing could be much worse.
