3rd. That in the course of that Service he has been absent on leave on several occasions, at the dates and for the terms specified below, viz. :--
1st-For Months beginning on and ending on 2nd.- will be 3rd.-4th. That provision has been made for the due execution of Mr. Goodlake's Office during his absence by arrangements which will be reported in subsequent Communication.
1. Total Service, from date of arrival in the Colony to date of Certificate... Years. Months. 2. Deduct total Absences since arrival (other than Vacation leave), whether with or without Half Salary 3. Period of Resident Service 4. Maximum amount of Leave authorized by Regulations in respect of the above period of Resident Service (viz, † of Resident Service + Six Months) 5. Having attended Mr. S. W. Goodlake from time to time, for more than twelve month's past, I am satisfied that his general health is not good; and he suffers from special symptoms which, added to his dread of the next hot weather, makes it very desirable that he should leave this before Summer, and proceed to Europe by long sea voyage in preference.
