125 of things. I have been anxious that novel such as are but durable articles and likely to give the Public for a long time fair value for the money expended should be procured, and there is no doubt that the Colony can at present very well afford any expense contemplated by the Council.

b. The enclosed requisition will probably be supplemented by another for some smaller articles, but as there is not much time left for procuring and sending out to this Colony the articles now asked for, I have thought it better to send on the requisition as far as it is completed.

The articles should be sent out by one of the Steamers, which sail for Hongkong from either London or Liverpool as may best suit, and the Crown Agents should be instructed to lose as little time as possible in ordering and forwarding them.
