Belgian Consulate, Hongkong, 8th January, 1869.
I have the honor to inform you that owing to my frequent absence from this Colony I have sent in my resignation to the Belgian Government, and have nominated Mr Theophilus Guelinstead to act for me until the Government has made an appointment.
Trusting that His Excellency the Governor will be pleased to recognize Mr Linstead as Acting Consul for Belgium
