heri on the 9tt of June recommending that he should apply to this Govt for information with regard to Private Edmund Smith, ?/9th foot who was sentenced to Penal Servitude at Canton on the 18th August 1865.
Lee John Patrington will please state that this Govt is unable to furnish the information asked for. And that the Govt deems it necessary to know what flaw the man was sent to undergo his sentence.
