I have heard this morning from the Directors that the whole of the accommodation in the Steamer of the 25th instant has been engaged for some time past, but that a passage has therefore been retained for me per Steam Ship Bangalore leaving Marseilles on the 8th instant.
Owing however to the prevailing Monsoons it is not likely that the passengers by that opportunity will reach Hongkong before the 4th of December.
Under the circumstances I have to request the favour to be allowed to delay the resumption of my duties at the Hongkong Treasury from Thursday to Monday the 21st of December next.
