I find that my health (Strength) has suffered much from my continuous residence here during seven consecutive Summers, and I now apply for such a period of Leave of absence on half Salary as it may be in His Excellency's power to grant me consistently with Her Majesty's Standing orders and Regulations.

Should the relaxation from my duties I apply for be granted me, I would further ask that I may be allowed to draw for myself and family the usual passage allowance to England by the Steamers of the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company. I would propose leaving the Colony on the 15th of December next.
