With reference to the last paragraph of the letter of this Department of the 10th August last, I am directed by the Secretary of State for War to acquaint for the information of the Secretary of State for the Colonies, that it has been arranged between the Board of Admiralty and this Department that the measures

for the prevention of Contagious Disease at Barbados, Nova Scotia, and Simon's Town, Cape of Good Hope, shall be under the superintendence of the former; the remaining Stations of the Cape of Good Hope, and also Mauritius, Canada, Demerara, and Bermuda being left to this Department.
