Chairman is, my Lords apprehend, of the nature, and is in lieu,
of
Allowance, and that
Forage certain Officers
on the Establishment
are entitled to this allowance,
in right of the offices which they hold in the Colony.
The fact of a special application on behalf of this officer would seem to imply that he is not entitled to it, and did not receive it while employed at the Pokfulum Waterworks, and it appears desirable to my Lords

Lords to obtain information on this point before assenting to the recommendation.
